Finger-Tricks
Welcome to the finger-tricks section of this site. On this page you will learn how to move the faces of any twisty puzzle with speed and co-ordination. Finger-tricks for all twisty puzzles (When using both hands, NOT one-hand) is basically the same, but some minor adjustments may be necessary- They will come naturally though. Finger-tricks enable the cuber to be able to execute algorithms with efficiency so that you can solve the puzzle faster. Ok let's get started. Different faces require different finger-tricks, the list below shows you what fingers on what hand to use when executing specific moves, which are in bold - the first choice is what I prefer to use:
U - Use your right index finger to push the face to the right.
U' - Use your left index finger push the face to the left.
U2 - Use either hand and do U twice or U' twice/ Double trigger which is using either index finger, quickly followed by that same hand's middle finger.
D - Use your whole hand (Left or right) and turn the face/ Use your left ring finger to flick the face.
D' - Use your whole hand (Left or right) and turn the face/ Use your right ring finger to flick the face.
D2 - Use your whole hand (Left or right) and turn the face twice/ Use your ring finger (Left or right hand) to flick the face twice.
R - Use you whole right hand to push the face forwards.
R' - Use your whole right hand to pull the face backwards.
R2 - Use your whole right hand to push or pull the face fowards or backwards respectively.
L - Use you whole left hand to pull the face backwards.
L' - Use you whole left hand to push the face forwards.
L2 - Use your whole left hand to pull or push the face backwards or forwards respectively.
F - Slightly tilt the cube forwards (In rotation of " z ") and use your right index finger like you would for " U ".
F' - Slightly tilt the cube forwards (In rotation of " z ") and use your left index finger like you would for " U' "/ Use your Right thumb and push it up from the bottem right hand corner of the cube.
F2 - Slightly tilt the cube forwards (In rotation of " z ") and use your left index finger like you would for " U2 ".
B - Slightly tilt the cube backwards (In rotation of " z' ") and use your right index finger like you would for " U ".
B' - Slightly tilt the cube backwards (In rotation of " z' ") and use your left index finger like you would for " U' ".
B2 - Slightly tilt the cube backwards (In rotation of " z' ") and use your left or right index finger like you would for " U2 ".
Ok so now you hopefully got the finger trick aspect down for speedcubing. Remember these finger tricks can be used for most cubes and the megaminx. This technique will help significantly as it allows you to execute algorithms extremely fast, especially when compared to turning the faces with your whole hand for every move.
Thanks for Reading!
